The Eppalock Pump Stations and pipeline are critical pieces of infrastructure, supplying Heathcote with its raw water as well as Bendigo and Ballarat's back up supply.

Repair of these important assets has been a top priority for our crews to ensure security of supply for these towns.

Bendigo / Eppalock Pump Station

This asset is currently not operational after being submerged to 2.7 metres.

Our contractors have undertaken condition assessment, identifying significant damage to the internal switchboards, pumps and motors.

We are working closely with the Goldfields Superpipe Joint Venture throughout the restoration process.

An options assessment has begun to investigate a climate resilient upgrade to prevent future flooding.

In April 2024 we have been carrying out window replacement works at the top of the pump station, to ensure the replacement windows are strengthened for the future.

A date is yet to be determined for when the pump station will be returned to service.

Eppalock / Heathcote Pump Station

This asset is currently being run by temporary electrics and control.

Our contractors identified significant damage to the internal switchboards, pump and motor, after it was submerged to 2.7 metres.

A post-flood structural assessment was also undertaken.

A design is now ready and permit applications have been submitted to the City of Greater Bendigo to build a permanent, climate resilient pump station.

Eppalock / Heathcote Pipeline

This asset is currently operating under a temporary solution after being submerged to 2.7 metres.

Sections of the pipeline were completely washed away.

Our contractors have undertaken condition assessment, and temporary repairs have been completed.

We are working closely with Goulburn Murray Water to plan a permanent realignment of the pipeline to protect against future floods.
