National Water Week

Celebrate National Water Week with us!

Join us after school from 4pm on Friday 25 October for a celebration of National Water Week at the Bendigo Library.

What’s happening on the night?

Welcome to Country at 4.15pm.
A very special Storytime at 4.30pm. Meet our special guest ‘Tap’ the Coliban Water mascot and see what type of mischief he gets up to! Fun activities and arts and crafts, plus a display of winning posters from our National Water Week Poster Competition.
North Central CMA’s River Detectives program: explore the fascinating world of waterbugs.
City of Greater Bendigo’s Biodiversity Team: learn about water plants, waterbirds and other animals that rely on wetland habitats and do some arts and crafts with the team.
Smile4Miles with ‘Magi Dragon’! Plus free home dental health kits as well as some fun activities!
Swamps, Rivers and Ranges Inc: learn about frogs and their importance for wetland ecosystems and join in some froggy games and challenges.

National Water Week Poster Competition

We are inviting all preschools, primary schools and individual artists in our region to participate in the annual National Water Week Poster Competition for 2024.
All junior artists are encouraged to submit a creative poster that reflects this year's theme, 'Water for all, Inspiring Action.'
The competition opens Monday 15 April and will close Friday 6 September.
All the winners will be announced during National Water Week Monday 21 – Sunday 27 October.

The 2024 National Water Week theme is Accelerating Action. Together, we will spark a collective movement towards a sustainable water future, taking concrete steps to bring about enduring change.
We invite the community to accelerate action this National Water Week and contribute to shaping a sustainable water future for generations to come, urging everyone to be part of this transformative movement.

Library Storytimes

Calling all water heroes!

We’ll be popping up at Libraries across the region for some 'After the Drain' fun! What happens to the things we send down our toilets and drains? Join the Coliban Water educators for some stories, funny songs, and rhymes. Beware: there may be toilet jokes!

Children's Week Events

Calling all water heroes!

Celebrating Children's Week during National Water Week to ensure our kids have the right to a clean and healthy environment. You will find us with some fun activities and giveaways in Long Gully and Echuca.
