The Elmore Water Tower Rectification Works are now complete.

The third and final stage of works took place in January 2024, and involved rehabilitation of the elevated tank's internal and support structures.

We have refilled the elevated tank and carried out commissioning.

As part of the process to refill the tank for the first time, chlorine has been added to the water supply as a temporary measure. This will disinfect the water following work on the lining of the tank.

This water will move through the town's water supply, meaning that you may notice a slight chlorine odour or taste.

Your drinking water remains safe to consume. If you are sensitive to chlorine, try placing a jug of tap water in the fridge for 10 minutes, or pass the water through a purifier or filter.

Overall, this project will ensure a long-term, secure water supply for Elmore, and the $1.1 million investment has increased storage capacity and improved water pressure for the town.

Earlier phases of these works saw the construction of three 50 KL ground-level tanks and a booster pump station, as well as repair works on the tower.

We thank the community for their patience whilst these works were completed.
