Upcoming night works

17 September 2021

The site clearing phase is now complete, with earthworks under way. The next steps will involve installation of underground pipework to allow for construction of two new 3.3 megalitre water storage tanks. A building to house a new pumping station and UV disinfection equipment will also be constructed.

To allow for this new infrastructure, we need to remove a section of water main that is located within the plant grounds and replace it with an upgraded section that has extra connections.

This work will be carried out at night when the demand for town water is at its lowest. A temporary pump station will be used to ensure no interruption to your normal water supply services.

The night works are planned for the week starting Monday 4 October, between 9pm and 5am each night.

Work on an improved plant entranceway on Moama St will also be carried out in coming weeks. This will involve cutting into the levee bank.

Powercor will carry out upgrade works to supply additional power resources that the plant will need in future. You may notice a new power kiosk substation near the plant's entrance.
