Upcoming truck activity at Bendigo WRP

23 January 2026

As part of the Bendigo Solids Handling Upgrade, we will be starting earthworks to prepare the site for construction later this year.

The Bendigo Solids Handling Upgrade will allow the Bendigo Water Reclamation Plant to treat more wastewater and accommodate population growth and a changing climate in Greater Bendigo.

Earthworks are planned to take place on site on weekdays from 7am to 5pm from early February and are expected to take three months.

These earthworks will mean an increase in truck movements to and from the plant.

We understand how busy Howard Street can get during school drop-off and pick-up times. Our contractors will make every effort to avoid truck movements during these peak periods.

Construction of the new Solids Handling Facility is expected to begin in July with the project to be complete by early 2029.

We will keep the community updated as the project progresses.

We’re also upgrading other key parts of the Bendigo WRP in the future to ensure this critical community infrastructure can continue to keep up with the needs of our growing population and changing climate for the next 25 years.
