As we approach the end of the year, here's an update on our odour mitigation works at our Bendigo Water Reclamation Plant.

We are making progress with a number of actions to address odour, which include:

• Ongoing conversations with an industry odour expert
• We have completed work to seal minor leaks on our ventilation systems
• We continue to manage our plant lagoons in a strategic way to reduce likelihood of odour.
• We are currently working on a design to contain odours near our wastewater screening area.
• We’re also investigating contingency for our odour extraction fans, to ensure we always have spares on standby, as well as refurbishing the existing fans.

Our odour monitoring continues twice a week at present and as we enter the warmer months, we’re conscious that odour can arise with a change in weather.

We strongly encourage you to phone us anytime 24/7 on 1300 363 200 if you need to report odour to us. The more that we receive these reports, the more we can build a picture of the areas of our plant which need the most urgent attention.
